Learn

Learn

Learn is currently in a closed beta. If you are interested in joining the beta, please feel free to drop me an email.

If you have already provided me with your iPhone/iPod touch device identifier, you should now be ready to install the latest Learn beta release.

Installation

Installation of the Learn beta is only a little more complicated than installing an application from the iTunes Music Store.

(Anyone testing Learn on a jail-broken device is on their own.)

  1. Download the latest release for your operating system (Windows and Linux, OS X).
  2. Extract the zip file or open the dmg.
  3. Connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer and wait for it to complete synchronizing with iTunes.
  4. Double-click the Learn.mobileprovision file. This should open in iTunes but will not give you any indication of success or failure.
  5. Double-click the Learn.ipa file. This will again open in iTunes and should, this time, take you to the ‘Applications’ section of your iTunes library.
You can confirm that this has completed successfully by checking for an application entitled ‘Learn’ with the following icon:
    learn_itunes_icon
  6. Select your iPhone or iPod touch from the ‘DEVICES’ section in iTunes and click the ‘Sync’ button in the bottom right of the application.
  7. Congratulations! The Learn application should now be installed on your device.

For further details of how to use Learn, check out the demo.

Feedback

While I plan to put a more structured bug reporting solution in place, please email all your bugs, criticisms and suggestions to jbmorley@mac.com for the time being.
